In my last video, you may have caught my mention of a concert coming up and that is because this year for our advent event we are doing a Christmas concert in Tapolca. We go up to Budapest for the practices because our lead vocalists are there and unable to travel to meet us in Tapolca.
I didn't know what to expect when we went up for our first practice. Sondi said that the guy we were going to be singing with, Tibor, was a famous painter in Budapest, with an incredible voice. So he will probably one day be a famous singer too :)
Well she wasn't kidding. I was supposed to join in...but when the three lead vocalists started singing together (Sondi, Tibor and Ildiko), with the stunning acoustics in the high ceiling Lutheran Church.. I was like..."Y'knoooow.....you guys are good. I think I'll just sit back here with a camera and a box of Kleenex...thanks."
I was eventually dragged in...and it was of course a special privilege to get to sing with them :)
The concert will be on December 2, in a church building in Tapolca.
Tibor has a really interesting (and sad) back story. The short version is that he was born to a family that was part of the Roma (also known as "gypsy") minority, and ended up in an orphanage where he grew up. Both of those factors can make life in Hungary a really tough go. He became a follower of Christ about six years ago, and now has a passion for serving and helping people as well as ministering through music. It would be pretty cool to see him thrive as a musician because he is super talented and can play guitar as well.
